What is Knowledge Translation?
If your company or organization has a proven, innovative product or service that has the potential to improve health, people need to know about it. In the research community, we call that knowledge translation, knowledge exchange or knowledge mobilization. Whatever you call it, it’s about sharing information. And while scientists are really, really good at science, research is often written in high-level language that often leaves government officials, media and consumers scratching their heads. That doesn’t help anyone.
If you are ready to move knowledge into action, I can help.
Whether your goal is to compile the latest clinical research through a systematic, topic-based literature review, develop summary documents and ‘tip sheets’ that present research findings, create literature for different audiences, or you need an engaging presenter for live education sessions, I have the expertise to translate medical and scientific information into compelling messages.
While I am currently formalizing my credentials with a Masters of Applied Health Sciences, I have worked for over a decade creating knowledge products including website content, brochures, newsletters and ghost-written materials for international leaders in the natural health industry.
With five years experience as producer and host of a health talk radio program, as well as a season as the health correspondent for a local cable television news station, I am in tune with the kinds of messages that appeal to media. As a speaker, I am adept at presenting information on air and in-person in an audience-friendly and engaging format.
When you’re ready to get your message in motion, I’d love to chat with you. Let’s connect at Lisa@LisaPetty.ca.
